Hello Friends, Welcome to Augusta

Welcome to 2019!  College Football Bowl season is over, the NFL Playoffs start tomorrow and most importantly PGA TOUR golf is back.  The 2019 PGA TOUR season officially kicked off yesterday in Maui at the Sentry tournament of Champions at The Plantation Course at Kapalua.

2019 is set to be an exciting year of golf:  new rules, new schedule, and one of the best lineups of Major courses in recent history- Augusta National, Bethpage Black, Pebble Beach and Royal Portrush.

The Masters is a marquee tournament showcasing one of, if not the most beautiful course in the United States-Augusta National.  I am not one of the lucky few who have played or been to Augusta National (any members reading this, that’s a hint) but every year I can hear that magical tune and I welcome in the warm embrace of Jim Nantz’s voice calmly whispering, “hello friends, and welcome to a tradition unlike any other.”

Augusta National plays at just over 7,400 yards and every hole at Augusta has its own name, and each provides its own unique challenge.  White Dogwood, Golden Bell, and and Azalea make up one of the most famous stretches of holes in the world: Amen Corner.  Many a tournament have been won and lost during this stretch of beautiful yet daunting stretch of the 11th, 12th and 13th holes.

With its perfectly trimmed hedges, the pure green fairways, and the lush pine straw, and impossibly fast greens, it does not get much better than Augusta National.  Get ready friends, Major season will be upon us soon.
