I have been a fan of the Golf Drawn Instagram account for a while and I am excited to announce that we will be periodically featuring his work on Bladed Wedge. The format of the articles will be some background of the course and the Gold Drawn design. For the first post, Golf Drawn decided to focus on Oakmont Country Club which is special to him because he caddied there for 11 years and give some background on how he started out!
Bladed Wedge Fans,
For 11 years I carried the bags of esteemed members and high-profile guests at
Oakmont Country Club. Oakmont is where I learned the game and developed a love for course architecture and design. When I began drawing golf’s uniquely intelligent layouts I quickly learned that a course and its layout mean so much more, to so many people than a pricey Pro Shop haul or an Instagram picture on a signature hole. These courses are where people learned the game, they’re the sites of unforgettable buddies’ trips, hosts of major championships stops on bucket lists, local muni tracks where communities gather, and places of work for some. But most importantly, these are places deeply engrained in the hearts and minds of those who love the game of golf.
At Golf Drawn we set out to help golfers commemorate the rounds, the people, the moments, and the memories, through accurate renderings of the courses where it all takes place. Whether it’s a par 3, your home track, or a top-100, give us a shout so we can help you relive, recreate, and remember the experiences and places that mean so much.
